Low FODMAP Diet

A low Fermentable Oligosaccharides, Disaccharides, Monosaccharides, and Polyols (FODMAP) diet is one that is especially useful when someone has persistent digestive symptoms such as bloating, burping, abdominal pain, diarrhea and gas. This diet is meant to be used only for a short time since it is too restrictive and excludes many nutritious foods.
